Second-year EMBA student Saba Richardson was selected as the recipient of the 2019 Bill Lindsey Endowed Scholarship.
Saba currently serves as project manager at wholesale food distributor Worldwide Produce, where she is responsible for planning and executing a broad range of projects focused on process change management and technical implementations. She previously managed corporate operations for an artisanal gelato company in Irvine, where she oversaw franchising, manager training and administration.
Saba earned a B.A. in economics and administrative studies from the University of California, Riverside. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals (SHRM) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
“I am humbled and honored to have been awarded the Bill Lindsey Endowed Scholarship,” said Saba. “Mr Lindsey’s vision for the EMBA and his years of dedication are a testament to the excellence and professionalism the LMU EMBA represents today. The EMBA program has challenged me to grow as a business leader and an individual. I would like to thank the EMBA staff, faculty, my fellow classmates, and my husband and family for their unwavering support, guidance and encouragement during this incredible journey.”
Thanks again to all who gave to this very special scholarship fund. This fund not only allows us to honor Dr. Lindsey in perpetuity and all he did for the LMU EMBA Program (currently ranked #26 by U.S. News & World Report), but also helps attract high-quality MBA students. As you may know, the money raised is invested in the LMU endowment which distributes approximately 5% of the principal each year to award a deserving scholar like Saba. Any interest earned over and above 5% is reinvested in the principal and any new gifts to this fund increases the fund’s value and subsequent awards. With your support, we hope to continue growing the endowment which will allow us to provide support to more than one student each year.
